Most fraud attempts share the same handful of tells. Walk away if you see any of them.
- A price far below market with pressure to act immediately
- A seller who refuses a phone call, video walkthrough or in-person viewing
- Requests for wire transfers, gift cards, crypto or third-party escrow you did not choose
- A shipping or agent story that explains why you cannot see the unit

Meet during daylight in a public location, bring someone with you, and tell a friend where you are going. Many police departments offer designated exchange zones.
Report a problem
Every listing has a report action, and you can report a conversation from your inbox. Our moderation team reviews reports and can suspend accounts, remove listings or refer activity to law enforcement.
